A cashmere-blend throw with real weight and drape - soft enough against the skin to reach for on the first cool evening, substantial enough to still be in daily use by winter. It layers easily over a sofa arm or the foot of a bed, and holds its shape rather than pooling into a heap. Available in a range of checks, herringbones and block patterns, so there's a good match for most colour schemes.
Woven by John Hanly & Co, whose mill has stood beside the Nenagh river in Ballyartella, North Tipperary, since 1893, when Denis Hanly and his son John first set it up in a disused flour mill.
